Dr. Sandra Scott, MD was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of One Brooklyn Health as of January 2024. Dr. Scott is a recognized physician leader, and educator, a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Scott served as the Chief of Service for Emergency Medicine at Rutger’s New Jersey Medical School and Chair of Emergency Medicine at Lincoln Medical Center in the South Bronx. She brings a fresh perspective to improving health care services for the communities in East and Central Brooklyn.
Prior to her appointment as Interim CEO, Dr. Scott, served as the Executive Director of the Brookdale Hospital Center for nearly three years, has a distinguished medical career that includes serving as Chair of One Brooklyn Health’s Department of Emergency Medicine, which delivers lifesaving care to patients across East and Central Brooklyn. Dr. Scott served as Brookdale’s Chair of Emergency Medicine from 2018. In September 2020, she was announced as the Chair of Emergency Medicine for One Brooklyn Health. Dr. Scott looks forward to expanding access to care, cultivating outstanding talent, and advancing programs of excellence to improve health care outcomes, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
Dr. Scott, who has served as the Executive Director of the Brookdale Hospital Center for nearly three years, has a distinguished medical career that includes serving as Chair of One Brooklyn Health’s Department of Emergency Medicine, which delivers lifesaving care to patients across East and Central Brooklyn. Dr. Scott is credited with overseeing a well-prepared emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic by training physicians and staff early on emergency operations. Dr. Scott has also led Brookdale’s efforts to address health equity and Black women’s maternal health issues. She joined U. S. Senator Chuck Schumer to champion the Maternal Health Momnibus Act to address disparities in women’s healthcare.
Throughout her career, Dr. Scott has worked exclusively in safety-net hospitals such as Kings County and Brookdale. Her goal is to serve and uplift communities with health and equity disparities both in the U.S. and abroad.
Dr. Scott has worked in the Kings County health systems since the 1990s. When she assumed the role as Executive Director at One Brooklyn Health, Dr. Scott made history by becoming the first woman, physician, and person of color to lead the hospital in its 100-year history.

Veteran Healthcare executive Paul Rosenfeld brings an impressive and valuable breadth of experience to the position of CEO/COO of Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, and as a member of the One Brooklyn Health System Senior Executive team.
Responsible for day to day operations and execution of the strategic vision and mission of the campus as a part of the overall system, he is responsible for oversight of Acute, Ambulatory and Long term Care/Nursing Home Operations and Initiatives.
Rosenfeld joined Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center at One Brooklyn Health in January 2018. In addition to his operational responsibilities at Kingsbrook. Rosenfeld serves as a Board Member of the Continuing Care Leadership Coalition and the Cinergy IPA, as well as having served on various Commissions and Boards during the course of his career. Most recently, he served as the Executive Vice President for Long Term Care Operations at CenterLight Health Care System of New York.
Charles Bove' is the Executive Director of Interfaith Medical Center at One Brooklyn Health. Mr. Bové is responsible for the day-to-day operations, fostering a culture of communication and collaboration throughout the organization, as well as within OBH with system colleagues. He is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 35 years of leadership experience in acute and ambulatory settings. Mr. Bové was recruited to the role of Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Interfaith Medical Center in June 2014.
Mr. Bové has a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ursinus College.
He is also a Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Bové received the Merit Award from IMC's Auxiliary, Healthcare Hero Award from the Brooklyn Borough President and was an inaugural member of Schneps Media's Brooklyn Power list.
Dr. Chris Paras is the Interim Executive Director of Brookdale Hospital Medical Center at One Brooklyn Health. Dr. Paras currently serves as the VP of Academic Affairs and Designated Institutional Official for One Brooklyn Health. The role oversees 16 training programs, with a total of approximately 450 graduate trainees. For the undergraduate piece, his role manages multiple medical school partners, with continental schools including SUNY Downstate, NYITCOM, and TouroCOM. Dr. Paras is an Associate Professor of Medicine with extensive teaching experience.
Dr. Paras completed his undergraduate bachelor's degree at New York University, where he double majored in biology and history. He continued onto NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine for his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He subsequently completed his training in internal medicine, a chief resident year, and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at SUNY Downstate. He is also boarded in clinical hypertension.
In the role of Interim Executive Director of the Brookdale Campus, Dr. Paras will collaborate with the leadership team in the implementation of high priority initiatives, supporting the Brookdale campus' role within the One Brooklyn Health system. Dr. Paras is a Brooklyn native and has deep roots in the borough, giving him additional insight and passion about the OBH mission and responsibility to uplift the health and wellness of the people we serve.
