2. Information for shoppable services in a consumer-friendly format.

This information can assist consumers to shop and compare prices across hospitals and estimate the cost of care before going to the hospital.  Please note that the use of these files may not be the most accurate method to provide the cost of health care, as the actual services you receive may differ from those presented and may depend on your insurance provider or you eligibility for financial assistance.  Please contact the financial counselors at the OBH hospital you are planning to visit (718-240-5240), to obtain more accurate estimates.

Consider these factors that may affect the cost of health care

These files contain information derived from contracts with OBH

The actual cost of your procedure may be higher or lower based on factors specific to your case, such as your length of stay in the hospital and the complexity of your medical condition.  Additionally, co-insurance and/or deductibles may impact your out-of-pocket expenses.  If you have questions regarding an estimated charge, please contact our billing customer service team.

You may be billed for other charges

The contract information reflects hospital charges/payments only.  They do not include physician or other provider fees that may be billed separately from the hospital fees.  You may receive bills from multiple physicians for their services, including the anesthesiologist, hospitalist, pathologist, radiologist, cardiologist, emergency room physician and other specialists who participate in your care.  If you have questions regarding the bill for their services, please contact the individual provider.

Participating Insurance Plans

A list of insurance plans participating with OBH is provided here.

Please note that some providers who may be involved in your care may not participate in the same insurance plans covering care at OBH.  Therefore, we recommend you check with the physician arranging for hospital services to determine if the physician participates in a plan that covers your care.

The Standard Charge information provided in the file is made available as required by applicable law (see, Title 45 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 180) for individuals seeking hospital items and services and the limited purposes as specified in the applicable statutes and regulations.  Any other use or disclosure of this information whether in part or in whole, alone or in combination with other information, including repots and analysis derived from the data provided is prohibited.  The Standard Charge data includes elements of negotiated arrangements between Hospital and payers set forth in contractual agreements and the parties to these agreements may have rights to maintain such information as confidential and subject to the protections of trade secrets.
