Dr. Nii Koney is the Director of Interventional Radiology at One Brooklyn Health. He is originally from Ghana and spent much of his formative years here in East Flatbush, where he completed high school at Nazareth Regional. He obtained his medical degree at Weill Cornell Medicine and MBA at Columbia Business School, then continued residency training at Mount Sinai West in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine. He then moved across the country for an interventional radiology fellowship at UCLA. Before joining OBH, he provided care in Portland, Oregon at Kaiser Permanente and is on the faculty of the Dotter Institute at Oregon Health and Science University, where he leads Global Health efforts to promote training and access to interventional procedures worldwide.
He enjoys getting to know his patients and being part of an integrated, multidisciplinary care team. Dr. Koney practices the full breadth of interventional radiology, with particular areas of interest in minimally invasive embolization procedures performed through a pinhole that significantly alter lives. He practices interventional oncology, using a variety of tools including microwave & cryoablation to destroy cancer cells.
Dr. Nii Koney loves spending time with his wife and baby boy; running & hiking through nature; expanding his imagination through books, music and travel; and bringing people together.
