On March 2, 2026, Dr. Ramy Abdel-Naby was sworn in as a NYPD Police Surgeon. He joins our very own, Dr. Nicholas Vaccari and a select group of physicians across New York City to provide specialized medical consultations to police officers and their families, manage their medical care and to determine fitness for duty across the entire NYPD. Dr. Abdel-Naby was selected for this position through a highly competitive and rigorous vetting process. As a NYPD Police Surgeon, he holds the rank of Inspector. Dr. Abdel-Naby will continue to serve as the Chief of Trauma Surgery & Surgical Critical Care and the Trauma Medical Director at Brookdale Hospital. His new position will also strengthen the hospital and community relationship with the NYPD as he continues to provide the highest quality of compassionate surgical care for all.
