March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and Dr. Derrick Cheung is helping raise awareness in the community by discussing colon cancer risks, prevention and how One Brooklyn Health services can support early detection and care. In his op-ed, he emphasizes the growing importance of screening and education as more younger adults are being diagnosed, noting, "Today, 1 in 5 diagnoses of colorectal cancer occur in people under the age of 55 and the rates are rising about 1–2% each year."
