One Brooklyn Health (OBH) is excited to announce the launch of our new Lung Cancer Screening Program at the Pennsylvania Brookdale Family Care Center (BFCC). This program is designed to help people at risk for lung cancer get checked early — when treatment works best and a cure is possible.
Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer deaths, but when it’s found early through a simple, low-dose CT scan, it can often be treated successfully. Our goal is to make screening easy, accessible, and supportive for our community.
Our program brings together a caring team of experts in primary care, pulmonology (lung health), radiology, surgery, and oncology, all working together to help you stay healthy.
A dedicated full-time clinician will be there to:
- Help you find out if screening is right for you (especially if you’re age 50–80 and currently smoke or have smoked in the past)
- Coordinate your care every step of the way
- Offer support to help you quit smoking
- Connect you to specialists quickly if your scan shows anything that needs follow-up
Screening visits are available in person or by telehealth, and CT scans can be done at both our Brookdale (BHMC) and Interfaith (IMC) campuses.
Through this program, OBH aims to:
- Increase access to life-saving lung cancer screening
- Help more people quit smoking
- Ensure equitable, high-quality care for everyone — especially in communities most affected by lung cancer
- Catch cancer early, when it’s most treatable, improving both life expectancy and quality of life
If you’d like to learn more or schedule your screening, visit onebrooklynhealth.org or call the OBH Pennsylvania BFCC at 718-240-8520.
