In observance of Black History Month, the External Affairs & Marketing/Communications Departments at One Brooklyn Health have organized a virtual education series, addressing the unique healthcare needs of our community. The series is promoted to staff and the community, and serves as an opportunity to reflect on physical, mental and emotional health. Facilitated by One Brooklyn Health medical specialists and staff, the series helps raise awareness while highlighting our talented and knowledgeable team. Sessions will be recorded and made available on our Facebook and YouTube social media platforms (please see below link).
FEB 27th:"Racial Disparities in Healthcare"
This session discusses: The lack of equitable access to high-quality health care as a result of structural racism in US health care policy; structured to the advantage of majority populations and disadvantage racial and ethnic minority populations. The discussion will address historical context of modern structural racism in health care policy, highlighting its role in health care coverage, financing, and equity.
