One Brooklyn Health helps develop the Brooklyn Health Equity Index (BKHI)!

Committed to ensuring equitable healthcare for Brooklyn communities, One Brooklyn Health helped develop the Brooklyn Health Equity Index (BKHI), which goes beyond traditional patient experience surveys in seeking to uncover experiences with discrimination in the healthcare setting, provider empathy, cultural humility, structural racism, and more. Developed in partnership with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health, the survey provided the opportunity to address issues such as inequities in access to care, treatment, discrimination based on a variety of factors including race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disease type, age, staff attitudes and responsiveness and organization's ability to address SDOH Issues.
