Born in Jamaica, Dr. Roy Lacey knew he wanted to practice medicine since the age of 10. He recieved his Bachelors of Science from SUNY Stonybrook with a major in Biology. He attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine from 2010 to 2014. During his general surgery residency at Stonybrook University Hospital in July 2020 COVID struck. Dr.Lacey was known to have an inclination towards critical care, and due to the severity of the illness, he was selected to lead an overnight ICU team for 2 months. After graduation he completed fellowship at Cooper University Hospital in Camden NJ, and elected for the exposure to penetrating trauma and complexity of caring for critical care patients. Dr. Roy Lacey welcomed the oppurtunity to practice at One Brooklyn Health because of his desire to work in an underserved community and provide the best care capable to the people he felt needed it the most. He is now the OBH - Brookdale Campus Community Outreach and Injury Prevention Director.

"My goal at OBH is to provide compassionate, evidence-based medicine and surgery, and assist in the optimization and modernization of our trauma and critical care protocols. What I particularly love about practicing trauma and critical care, is the chance to intercede in the lives of the most acutely ill patients, and watch in real time how our interventions can change/save a persons life. Seeing them wake up and finally be able to interact with you is a great pleasure for me. "

-Roy Lacey, MD
