One Brooklyn Health hosts Ballers for Sickle Cell Basketball Tournament

We definitely had "a ball" at the OBH Ballers for Sickle Cell Basketball Tournament last Friday, November 1st, as the Overcoming Sports Academy and District 19 All-Star Team faced off in a thrilling game at MS 935 Middle School to raise awareness for Sickle Cell Disease. Hosted by OBH @ Bishop Walker Family Care Center, this special event brought our community together to shine a spotlight on the impact of sickle cell and promote education. In collaboration with the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Sickle Cell Ball Campaign, the game featured a unique special-edition basketball, designed with minimalist black panels and a single crescent-shaped red panel, symbolizing the sickle cell shape. Together, we are fighting for awareness, hope, and a cure.
