One Brooklyn Health (OBH) proudly celebrated a milestone year with its 15th Annual Gospel Fest, held at the Kahn Auditorium on the Brookdale Medical Center campus. In collaboration with One Brooklyn Health and Pastor Gilford T. Monrose of Mt. Zion Church of God 7th Day, this year’s celebration honored the powerful connection between spirituality and wellness that has defined the event for more than a decade.
Hosted by Pastor Monrose and Enid Dillard, OBH’s senior director of marketing, communications, and public relations, the program brought together staff, residents from the One Brooklyn Health Assisted Living, and community members for an inspiring evening of gospel music and fellowship. The highlight of the day was the One Brooklyn Health Gospel Choir, a unique ensemble of healthcare staff from all three OBH hospitals—Kingsbrook, Brookdale, and Interfaith. Employees from various departments came together to perform, showcasing the spirit, talent, and unity of OBH’s workforce, delivering heartfelt performances that embodied the faith and togetherness of the OBH community.
Around 200 people attended and were moved by performances and were also moved by performances from special guest artists, many of whom are from the local community and brought their passion, musical gifts, and uplifting energy to the stage. Residents from the OBH Assisted Living enjoyed the performances alongside staff and community members, creating a powerful, inspiring experience that resonated deeply with everyone in attendance.
Reflecting on the event, Enid Dillard said, "Music is transformative. Music is healing. When we say ‘a healthier you starts here,’ we truly mean it—both inside our institutions and out in the community, promoting wellness initiatives that expand access to care.
The evening concluded with remarks from Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman (Assembly District 58), who commended OBH for its continued dedication to holistic health, programs and community empowerment.
